RYA Training
For all ages, abilities and goals, RYA qualifications are known and respected the world over.
The RYA delivers more than 100 courses to professional and recreational boaters, which are right up-to-date regards safety issues, regulations, and emerging trends whether a beginner looking for a Dinghy taster course, someone wanting to take advanced powerboating qualifications or an individual wishing to become an instructor, trainer or coach themselves.
There are more than 50 RYA Training Centres across the East Midlands region.
Instructor Training

Courses can be run at your own club or centre by arrangement with Gareth. Any club or centre wishing to run an Instructors course in any discipline, please contact Gareth first to check it is ok and later supply dates, venue and details of both the Coach / Trainer running the course and the Moderator
RYA Centre Inspections
All inspections are allocated at the beginning of the calendar year to the team of Inspectors with the hope of all inspections being completed by the end of August. If you have not heard from your Inspector by May, please contact Gareth Brookes.

Gareth's role is to work with RYA affiliated clubs and recognised Training Centres to develop regular participation in sailing and windsurfing, promote best practice in volunteer management and maintain and improve standards of safety and training at all the RYA Training Centres.
This involves working on the following key areas: Club and Training Centre development RYA recognition / instructor training / conferences OnBoard, the RYA's grassroots sailing and windsurfing initiative.
Gareth works closely with clubs and centres throughout the East Midlands to oversee the development of a strong volunteer base and improvement of facilities while also building partnerships with other clubs, centres, schools and community organisations.
