Pre Season Warm Ups
The aim of the Pre Season Warm Up is to get you back in a boat or an a board, blow away the cobwebs, get some top tips from a Dinghy Coach/Windsurf Trainer on your personal sailing skills. The day is only open to instructors (including assistant instructors) so you can relax, make the odd mistake, possibly get wet and not feel too daft! The difference between this day and the Instructor Conference is that this day is all about your sailing skills, the Conference is about your Coaching skills. Take your pick, or do both! There are a variety of sessions running – you can do the same thing all day or try something new in the afternoon. When you book we will need to know what sessions you want to do. Your booking will only be confirmed once we have payment. The cost of the day is £10/person.
The day will run from 0930 – 1700.

Activate Your Lasers
LaserPerformance, the UKLA and the RYA, supported by Sport England have teamed up to launch a new programme aimed at helping Clubs 'Activate' their Laser Fleets.
There is a huge population of Lasers in the UK, however not all are being regularly used and this programme provides an opportunity to increase participation in sailing.
The new project will support Clubs to develop ideas on how to encourage Laser owners and sailors back to the water and to help Clubs re-claim Lasers that have been abandoned at their premises. Coordinated by Graham Manchester, RYA Sport Development and LaserPerformance Fleet Sales Manager James Lund-Lack, clubs will be able to join a day on and off the water to gain information and share ideas on activating their Laser fleet and get ongoing support from the RYA’s team of Regional Club Coaches to ensure the success of their ‘Activation’ plans, as well as equipment maintenance, repair advice and purchasing support from LaserPerformance.
One Activate Your Lasers day was held at Staunton Harold SC on February 7th. Another is planned in the region for 11th April. Details will be included here as soon as they become available.
